72-year-old retiree won $300,000

1050 players took part in Main Event WSOPC Hammond with $1,700 buy-in and its prize pool was in the amount of $1,590 000.     

Some participants were selected for this event through the satellites and 72-year-old retiree Elik Vodovoz became one of them. He is an amateur player from Ukraine and his previous largest prize amount was $13,000. Most of his life Vodovoz worked as a dentist in the United States, but now he is retired and actively plays poker.

Elik was able to beat 1050 players and took the 1st place in this tournament. Besides $300 000 he also got WSOPC gold ring and the ticket for Global Casino Championship.  

“Frankly, I really like playing poker. I just have fun playing. My son is also playing and he told me ‘you’re playing well. Take your time and in the future, you will win something.’ Well the future came early.”
