Alex Foxen wins high roller tournament at L.A. Poker Classic
The L.A. Poker Classic High Roller with a buy-in of $25 000 has ended at the Commerce Casino, located in Los Angeles.
The event gathered a field of 20 poker players, and this formed a prize pool of $474 900. However, only 3 participants got in the money (all of them are from the USA).
The player of the Year 2018 and 2019 according to the GPI version, Alex Foxen, managed to take down the tournament, receiving $237 400 for the first place.
Jake Schindler turned out to be the tournament runner-up, having earned $151 900 in prize money. The last payout in the amount of $85 400 was given to the WSOPE bracelet owner Jeremy Ausmus.

Foxen started the heads-up battle with the dual advantage in chips. However, Jake was keeping his stack despite the blinds and antes were rising.
At one point, Schindler almost managed to "get back on track", but Foxen then played with A♣-Q♥ against his opponent’s A♥-2♣. The K♣-8♠-4♦-7♠-A♦ flop appeared on the board, which finally secured Foxen's victory in this tournament.
It’s worth noting that the day before, Alex Foxen’s girlfriend and the best player in the women's ranking Player of the Year (according to the Global Poker Index) – Kristen Bicknell – won the 6-max tournament worth $2 140 at the L.A. Poker Classic and earned $71 900.
