Andrey Pateychuk is a winner of CPPT Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series Main Event
For many players, CPPT Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series was the last chance to earn big money this summer in Las Vegas. 546 players paid $5,000 buy-in and formed a prize pool over $2,000,000. Each of them had an opportunity either to secure nice summer after the winning, or go away from Las Vegas with nothing.
Russian poker player Andrey Pateychuk managed to win this tournament, however he did it after the series of hurtful losses at the WSOP:
“I came to Las Vegas in the middle of June, and my first three weeks were terrible. I mean, really, really terrible. I never had [above] my starting stack in any tournament. I would just fold for five hours and bust. Everyday, I would go first to the Rio and bust there. Then I would go to the Wynn and lose a couple entries. Then I would go to Venetian and do the same thing. But then I ran deep in the main event, had a few cashes, and now this.”
Pateychuk was able to beat 564 players and got the lion's share of the prize pool: $547,000. This prize money entered top 3 of the largest winnings in the career of 29-year-old pro. Andrey fought in 3-max against Stephen Chidwick but he finished at the third place and earned $245,000.
