Anniversary Sunday Million: Brazilian "AAAArthur" turned $11 into $1 200 000
The 14th anniversary Sunday Million has finished at PokerStars. The event collected 93 016 entries, and the total prize pool this time amounted to as much as $18 603 200.
Sunday Million participants have won many of the seats through the satellites at PokerStars. For example, the Brazilian "AAAArthur", who eventually became the champion of the tournament, paid $11 instead of $ 215 for participation
The guy didn't make a single re-entry, so that he managed to turn $11 into $1.2 million.
This is a huge success for the Brazilian, especially considering the fact that his maximum prize money in online tournaments (before the Sunday Million) was $90.
There were 91 players to start the final day of the three-day event. The minimal payout was equal to $10 910, and the six-digit prize money was awarded starting from the 8th place.
When there were four players left in the event, it was decided to make a deal, according to which the prize money was divided by the ICM method. The guys also left $50 000 for the champion. The payouts were distributed as follows:
- AAAArthur (Brazil) – $1 142 802
- Stefan "CrAzY_sTeFaN" Piele Dragos (Romania) – $921 328
- salonteskis (Lithuania) – $826 920
- caroline2963 (UK) – $786 874
It became clear that only AAAArthur would receive a seven-figure payout, but the fact that he would become the champion and add another $50 000 to the winning amount was revealed a bit later.

The "AAAArthur" knocked out the Lithuanian "salonteskis" in the 4th place by calling his preflop all-in with A♥Q♥. The Brazilian managed to hit the flush of hearts on the river, and he became the owner of the billionth stack.
Then "CrAzY_sTeFaN" beat the "caroline2963", having received a king on the river, which the player needed to complete a full house. But his stack was two times less compared to the Brazilian’s one.
However, at some point, Stefan became a chip leader. It happened thanks to one hand: he shoved with A2 against A4 of "AAAArthur"; the board was 2♣4♣2♥2♠. Even jack on the river didn’t change the situation, because the Romanian had four of a kind against the Brazilian’s full house.
After a while, "AAAArthur" regained the leadership position and won the tournament after he called Piele Dragos’ all-in with a pair of deuces. The board came as follows: J♣J♦2♣A♦6♦.
For Stefan "CrAzY_sTeFaN", this prize money became the largest winning in his career, although, unlike his opponent in heads-up, there are some large five-digit wins on his record. Thus, last year he received $72 000 for the second place in the UFC KO Poker Series 58: $109 NLHE [Main Event]. Also, the guy has repeatedly become the champion of regular tournaments at PokerStars – he’s twice won the Bounty Builder for $109, and in the spring of 2019 Stefan took down the SCOOP 55-L: $11 NLHE [Deep Stacks].
It was an exciting tournament that culminated in the phenomenal victory of the Brazilian player, who only performed at micro-limits before. This victory turned him into a high roller and a dollar millionaire.
