Belgium's Bert Stevens won a record WSOP Online 2023 Main Event
A record-breaking WSOP Online 2023 Main Event on GGPoker has recently completed. The fantastic $5,000 buy-in event attracted 6,023 entries and made history as the tournament with the largest online prize pool of $28,609,250.
The Main Event champion is the well-known streamer Bert "girafganger7" Stevens, who broadcast his game at the final table on Twitch. Thanks to this victory, the Belgian secured two grandiose achievements at once:
- Updated career best cash with $2,783,432 as a first place prize along with a bracelet;
- Took the title of champion of the largest event in terms of prize money online.
Stevens started the game as the chip leader, and by the time he reached 6-max, he had a stack of 115 BB – more chips than all his opponents had in total at the table. In the deciding heads-up, "girafganger7" needed just three hands to defeat China's Yagen Li and win the title. The final hand of the tournament can be seen below.

The previous online record was set in the 2020 WSOP Online Main Event when it collected $27,550,500 in prize money on GGPoker. The $5,000 tournament got 5,801 entries, and Bulgarian champion Stoyan Madanzhiev took home $3,904,685.
