Brazilian player turned $100 into $265 000 at WSOP Online
A week ago, the WSOP Online at GGPoker started with a technical problem and the first two tournaments were postponed to July 26th. Thus, the poker community found out the names of their winners only yesterday.
One of these two events was the appropriately named WSOP The Opener. Its big plus was the affordable buy-in: only $100. And for a hundred dollars, players got a unique opportunity to fight for a bracelet and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The organizers' expectations were met and the tournament became very popular, as it collected 29 306 entries. On the second playing day, Marcelo Pudla had to fight with 4 600 other participants, but he managed to survive. After 11 hours of grueling struggle, the Brazilian got a gold bracelet and won $265 000.

This is not only the first bracelet in Marcelo's life, but also the largest prize money in his entire career. On the Hendon Mob website, the Brazilian has only one offline win of $3 000, and the player did not have any major victories online either.
In the final heads-up, Pudla faced Israeli Ronit Chamani. It took the Brazilian 10 minutes to deal with his opponent in heads-up. In the last hand of the tournament, his A5s were rightly stronger than 56s.
The runner-up was left without a bracelet, but also received a large payout: $198 000. Four of the poker players from this event received six-figure prizes, all with the fact that the buy-in was only $100.
