British Philanthropist Ian Gascoigne Wins GUKPT Main Event Title
The English city of Blackpool successfully hosted the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) series. All attention was focused on the Main Event of the festival with a buy-in of £1,250 – the tournament managed to collect 347 entries and a prize pool of £360,430.
Ian Gascoigne, a poker enthusiast from Nottingham, became the champion of the principal event. After making a deal in the top 3, the Englishman won the title and the biggest prize money of his career of £62,198. Gascoigne commented on his victory quite modestly: "I can't believe it myself".
The most interesting thing is that Ian Gascoigne is a famous philanthropist. He is the organizer of a charitable and very tasty initiative in Ukraine. Since the outbreak of full-scale war, his van "The Gazza Pizza" has been traveling around the country treating people to free pizza.
On his page in the social network X, the man writes that helping Ukrainians is very important to him.
Just received this update from somewhere in Ukraine. A little bit of happiness in what looks like being a long bleak winter. Pizza’s for peace. Best retirement present ever. Thanks once again to all who contributed. Ignore the hate on here. We can make the world a better place. pic.twitter.com/lcWB2etruC
