Daniel Negreanu wins 2019 WSOP Player of the Year title

Daniel Negreanu became the winner of the WSOP Player of the Year 2019 race. This year, the competition was very interesting. Several well-known poker professionals claimed the Player of the Year title.

During the WSOP 2019 in Las Vegas, American player Daniel Zack was leading the race, but then, Robert Campbell from Australia overtook him. The decisive stage in fighting for the POY title was the WSOPE 2019 series in Rozvadov.

At the beginning of the series, Campbell was in the lead. Then, the four-time WSOP winner Shaun Deeb got ahead of the Australian. However, the American wasn’t leading for long, and Robert Campbell managed to restore his superiority.

Throughout the year, Negreanu was among leaders of the race. Closer to the WSOPE 2019 ending, the guy was topping the rating. Daniel managed to retain the first place until the end of the series, which allowed him to win the WSOP Player of the Year title for the third time.

In total, the Canadian collected 24 cashes in the bracelet events in 2019, including five times playing at the final table and two times staying a step away from winning the bracelet.

It was the most essential for the poker player to become the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year:

«This was a personal goal of mine, winning it three times before anyone else got to two. The all-time money list isn’t something that I can contend for anymore with my schedule, but WSOP POY is an achievement I can give myself a shot to win. »
