Dealer Mistake in WSOP Paradise Main Event Final Causes Stir
Although the WSOP Paradise series in the Bahamas was quite successful, it was not without its troubles. The other day, online resource Poker Media Australia reported that Australian Daniel Neilson lost 10 million chips due to a dealer's error while playing in the top 3 of the Main Event final.

The incident happened during one of the hands where Neilson lost a big pot with AK against Stanislav Zegal's QK. The dealer miscalculated the pot: 48 million chips instead of 38. Because of this, after this hand, the Australian had only 5.2M chips left in his stack, instead of 15.2M.
The mistake was not immediately noticed, but the game was played under the sights of several cameras – the dealer really counted the chips incorrectly. Unfortunately, according to the organizers, nothing can be done in such situations after the end of the tournament.
"Any action to adjust play must be taken while the player remains at the table. As far as I know, no offline operator in the world awards any kind of cash compensation retroactively. We are looking into this issue thoroughly," WSOP CEO Ty Stewart commented on the incident.
It will be recalled that shortly after this hand Neilson was eliminated in third place. The Australian, who was remembered by the audience for his "all shades" shirt, also reacted to this situation.
"I don't even know what to say about this sh*t, so disappointed. The other all-ins were double-checked, I have no idea why they didn't do it for the biggest pot of the entire tournament. In general, the dealers are excellent, I did not notice any other mistakes with this dealer," says Daniel.
The Australian was also surprised that a local Bahamian dealer, who lacked experience, was twice invited to the final table of such a big event. Neilson says that almost every time he announced the wrong amount of bets.
It should be noted that this is not the first case of unprofessionalism of dealers at the WSOP. For example, Olga Iermolcheva has repeatedly talked about similar problems in her vlogs from the World Series of Poker. It is unlikely that Daniel Neilson will see compensation, so one can only hope that the organizers will take measures to prevent this from happening again in the future.
