Doug Polk and Joe Ingram call on players to boycott The Venetian

Doug Polk and Joe Ingram

The Venetian in Las Vegas has announced the holding of the Lucky Shot Poker series in October. It will be an unusual festival since the prize pool of the tournaments will remain unchanged. This means that after the event breaks a guarantee, the prize pool won’t increase, and every additional entry will be a 100% casino rake.

The poker community was outraged by this format of the tournaments and the majority got against such an innovation. Some famous poker professionals voiced their opposition to the Venetian's decision as well.

Doug Polk believes that poker players should boycott Venetian, as this is crazy. Douglas promised to record a video and tell about everything as detailed as possible in order for people to understand what is happening.

Joe Ingram agrees with his colleague and also objected to such tournaments. According to him, if someone supports a company charging a huge rake or companies that simply take players' money, then others will find that it works and start acting in the same way. Joe asked Polk to explain in detail why everything is so serious.

It is not yet known whether the tournament holding will be aborted, but it is already clear that the event has caused a broad resonance.
