From Online Qualifier to Champion: Dwayne Sluis Wins Unibet Open Main Event in Bucharest
The large-scale Unibet Open festival has come to an end at the luxurious Marriott Hotel in Bucharest. The series by Unibet poker was successful and offered players tournaments for every taste – from Mystery Bounty to mini-Main with an affordable buy-in.
And the most important tournament, of course, was the Main Event with a buy-in of 1100 euros. It lasted three days and brought together 360 participants. On the last third day of play, the final table game was played, and it lasted for seven whole hours.
As a result, the winner and holder of the prestigious title was the player from the Netherlands Dwayne Sluis. His main poker discipline is PLO, and he doesn't play Hold'em very often. Dwayne came to Bucharest with his wife and daughter after winning a prize package online.
The champion was very happy to receive a package to play in this tournament. He decided to arrange a trip for himself and his family and take it as an opportunity to relax and see a new city. And if he is lucky enough to get into the prizes, it will be even better. As a result, he managed not only to get into the ITM, but also to receive the coveted title and more than 65 thousand euros.
Not everything went well for Dwayne at the final table; there was a point where he lost almost all of his chips with kings against queens. However, he did not give up and was able to reach the victorious end. Now the champion and his family are planning to sell some of their property and travel around the world, as well as travel a lot around America and play in various poker series.
