Galfond’s Challenge: Phil has a new famous rival
Last month, the RIO Poker owner Phil Galfond challenged poker players for a battle. According to the challenge, it is necessary to play 50 000 hands (in profit) in the heads-up format against Galfond. The game will be played at RIO Poker.
So far, just five poker players have agreed to take part in the bet. They are: a multimillionaire Bill Perkins, a player under the "Venividi1993" nickname, a former Full Tilt Pro Brandon Adams, well-known high roller Dan Cates and a poker player under the "ActionFreak" pseudonym. As for Cates, he will participate in the Galfond’s Challenge under special conditions. Dan and Phil will only play 7 500 hands instead of 50 000.

Yesterday, the holder of two gold bracelets Chance Kornuth, joined the team of Galfond’s rivals. The owner of RIO Poker announced it on his Twitter page. The game between Galfond and Kornuth will be conducted at €100 / €200 limits. If Chance wins, then Phil will pay him €1 000 000. Otherwise, Galfond will receive €250 000.

Chance @ChancesCards Kornuth of @ChipLDR has stepped up to the plate 💪🏻
We plan to play 35k hands of €100/€200 PLO with a side bet of my €1m to his €250k.
May the best training site win. pic.twitter.com/6hO5tyKwaA
It’s worth noting that Kornuth has won $7 400 000 in live tournaments throughout his eleven-year poker career, which makes the guy a really strong opponent.
