Georgios Tsouloftas Outshines Italian Regulars in WSOP Circuit Sanremo Main Event
In the Italian resort town of Sanremo, the stage of the WSOP Circuit series ended. The main competition of the festival, according to tradition, was the Main Event, in which 906 entries were made, and the prize fund amounted to €766,476.
Cypriot poker player Georgios Tsouloftas emerged victorious in the €1,000 Main Event of the WSOPC at the Sanremo Casino. Facing a final table replete with some of Italy’s best live and online poker players, Tsouloftas proved to be an unstoppable force, especially in the final table stage. This victory adds to his already impressive career winnings and numerous accomplishments in 2023, with the WSOPC ring being his most lucrative and prestigious reward to date.
The final day of the tournament was a whirlwind of action, starting with 24 players and an expectation of a long night ahead. However, the game rapidly progressed to the final table, and then until the last three remained.
Interestingly, there were two experienced professional players from Italy in the final three: local regulars Flaviano Cammisuli and Andrea Shehadeh. And they were actively supported by numerous fans who wanted the championship title to go to their compatriot. However, this did not help them.
The future champion eliminated his opponents one after another, and thanks to this he entered heads-up with a 10 to 1 advantage in chips. Cammisuli achieved his best live cash, taking his career earnings to over $360,000. Known for playing often in Malta, he is a top regular in the region.
