Haxton Nearly Won his Second Straight Super High Roller Bowl

Jared Bleznick won Super High Roller Bowl PLO

At the beginning of October in Las Vegas, one of the most expensive tournaments of the year in the game of Holdem – $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl – ended. The champion of that grand event was the American Isaac Haxton, who received whooping $2,760,000 for the first place. And today he had every chance to win also the most expensive tournament of the year from pot-limit Omaha discipline.

The $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl PLO had 38 entries and a prize pool of $3,800,000. The prize zone consisted of the top 7 best, and SHRB 2022 winner – Daniel Negreanu – failed to get into the group. The famous Canadian was dramatically busted out on the money bubble. Interestingly, Negreanu was knocked out of the tournament by none other than Jared Bleznick, who then made it to a heads-up against Ike Haxton.

If Ike had been able to take advantage of his chip advantage and win the title in this event, he would have set a record. No one has ever won a Super Bowl title in both Hold'em and Omaha.

In total, the final table lasted more than 14 hours, so both players were visibly tired and exhausted at the end. Perhaps it was these factors that led to Haxton, despite his early chip lead and heads-up lead, making a few mistakes and eventually losing head-to-head play to finish in second place. Well, the victory in the tournament was celebrated by Jared Bleznick, who achieved the biggest victory in his career and earned $1,292,000.
