Haxton Won Super High Roller Bowl: Details of the Final
One of the most expensive tournaments of the year – the Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas –has officially come to an end. The buy-in for the tournament was $300,000 and this amount was paid by 20 players. Four of them managed to enter the ITM zone, and the sad title of the most expensive bubble boy of the season again went to the American Chris Brewer. He lost his last pot of 57 BB with pocket aces and exiting the tournament in 5th place. Here's how it went:

This is far from Brewer's first outing as a bubble boy. In 2021, he was eliminated 4 times from tournaments with buy-ins of $100,000, finding himself one step away from the prize zone. And in 2022, he was eliminated at the bubble of $200,000 Coin Rivet Invitational.
The winner of the tournament is another American, Isaac Haxton. He started the final table as the chip leader, managed to play his advantage and go heads-up, where he defeated his compatriot Andrew Lichtenberger. The prize for first place was $2,760,000.
In a winner's interview, Haxton conveyed that winning felt fantastic. He acknowledged facing a challenging group of players and noted that having started the final day with half the chips had been really beneficial. He called this event one of his favorites and also expressed delight over his performance.
And it's clear why Haxton loves the Super High Roller Bowl so much, as it is here where he earned two of his career best cashes in terms of prize money: $3,700,000 for his win in 2018, and now $2,760,000 for this year's success. As for the results of other players, the prize places were distributed as follows:
Place | Player | Country | Prize |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Ike Haxton | USA | $2,760,000 |
2 | Andrew Lichtenberger | USA | $1,680,000 |
3 | Stephen Chidwick | UK | $960,000 |
4 | Jason Koon | USA | $600,000 |
Ike has already collected nearly $13,000,000 in prize money for 2023, and the SHRB victory was his seventh PokerGo Tour tournament win of the year, which puts him in the current second place on the 2023 PGT leaderboard with 2,297 points. The leader of this ranking is WSOP Main Event winner Daniel Weinman with 2,300 points.
"Actually, I don't think I started playing any differently than before. I've always loved my game. Probably, this is just my year", Haxton commented on his successes.
