Jason Koon Makes History with Tenth Triton Poker Title
Another stage of the Triton Super High Roller ended in Monte Carlo. And it ended as usual, with the victory of Jason Koon. He is simply unstoppable on Triton and in the last event of the festival he managed to win another title and set a personal record.
This time, Jason conquered the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha Turbo. In heads-up, Eelis Parssinen tried to oppose him, but the Finn had no chance. Koon's victory earned him not only $365,000 in prize money, but also a record 10th Triton Poker Championship title.
Moreover, the advantage of the American is simply stunning: Phil Ivey and Danny Tang, who are in second place in terms of the number of Triton tournaments won, have only five titles each. That is, Koon has twice as much. Interestingly, this is his first championship triumph in Monte Carlo; Jason previously managed to win trophies at this festival in South Korea, Spain, Montenegro and other countries.
Triton multiple champions:
- Koon – 10;
- Ivey/Tang – 5;
- Badziakouski/Wai Kin Yong – 4.
It is also worth noting that the American managed to get first place in tournaments in all types of games: no-limit holdem, pot-limit omaha and short deck.
Jason is currently ninth overall in the 2023 POY Player of the Year standings, with the top 10 as of today:
