Jessica Dawley beats Faraz Jaka in heads-up for $200K
The $2 650 No Limit Hold’em tournament (one re-entry and one million dollar guaranteed) held at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open series has collected 385 entries in total. It passed with an overlay, therefore the organizers were forced to reduce the rake amount and $2 600 from each buy-in went to the prize pool.
Many successful poker professionals took part in the event. Faraz Jaka, who had recorded over $6 000 000 won in live tournaments, was one of the final table favorites. He was doing his best to keep a leader position, but in the final heads-up Jessica Dawley managed to overtake the American nonetheless.
Dawley and Jaka were topping the list of players on the number of chips through the whole the event, and it was this couple who met in the heads-up. Their stacks were approximately of same size - around 100 BB.
The heads-up lasted about four hours. Dawley, at some point, became an absolute chip leader when collected trips with pocket A ♦ 6 ♦ and board 9 ♦ 4 ♥ 3 ♦ 6 ♥ 6 ♣, and Jaka in that hand went all-in on the river having A ♣ 9 ♣.
Jaka was resisting with all his might, and Jessica faced a challenging time even with such a large stack, but she managed to reduce Faraz’s stack to 20 BB before the last hand of the tournament occurred: Jaka shoved with pocket eights against Dawley’s A ♣ 2 ♥, but the flop showed an ace that eventually brought her the victory.

Jessica began her poker career in 2008 after she left the army (the girl is the Air Force Veteran). Over the past 10 years, she has cashed in various live tournaments 80 times and won a gold bracelet in the women's event at the WSOP 2018.
Now, Dawley is also the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open champion. The girl took home $204 600. It is her largest prize money and first poker trophy apart from the WSOP bracelet. After this victory, Jessica's total profit from offline poker exceeded the mark of $1million. Her current winnings throughout the entire career are amounted to $1 054 000.
Faraz Jaka received $142 900 for finishing second. This winning is ranked ninth in the player's tournament statistics.
