Match Poker Nations Cup Final is to be held online
Match poker is a team type of poker in which the poker players compete collectively.
Initially, Nations Cup Final was supposed to be held in Peru, however the tense situation due to the local elections became the reason of event’s postponement and its relocation to Spain. Unfortunately, during that period, COVID-19 began to spread over the world, and it became the reason of travel restrictions. So, the above-mentioned event was postponed indefinitely.
But soon, International Federation of Match Poker announced the holding of final in the online mode on 30-31 May. The competitions will be held on the own software of federation that has nothing to do with the poker rooms.
14 countries will take part in online competition, and the game software will help all participants to communicate and see their rivals during the session, as well as communicate with the team captains, team mates and others during the breaks.
Patrick Nally (IFMP president) stated that they faced great difficulties because of coronavirus pandemic. However, their software allows holding the live events in online mode. According to his words, they look forward to get back to hosting the live tournaments, but the international competition schedule will be carried out in “online manner” until the situation is stabilized.
