Footballer Max Kruse helped Germany win silver at WCOAP
PartyPoker is now running the World Championship of Amateur Poker (abbreviated as WCOAP) with a $750 000 guarantee. The first to enter the competition were national teams, which included amateur poker players in the lineup.
In total, 10 teams took part in the team championship, each of which had 4 participants. The poker players played 24 SnG tournaments in No-Limit Hold'em, Omaha and PLO8. Depending on the player’s finishing position in the tournament, points were added towards the overall team standings.
Eventually, the national team of Wales gained the victory, and Germany fought for second place with Austria. The German team managed to win silver, and famous footballer Max Kruse turned out to be one of its best players.
This season, Max is playing for FC Union, which shows good football game in the Bundesliga. The injury does not allow Kruse to return to playing on the football field, so the guy is now conquering online poker fields.
You can come across Max Kruse on PartyPoker playing one of the tournaments worth $55 and $5.50. Also, the WCOAP has two leaderboards: the best player of the Main Series Leaderboard will get a ticket to the $5 300 Millions Online and the best player of the Mini Series Leaderboard will be able to play the $1 100 Mini Main Event for free.
