ME Partypoker Live Millions reduced buy-in to $5 300

Partypoker 2020

This year, the buy-in for PartyPoker Millions Main Event was increased to $10 000. After analyzing this decision, Rob Yong admitted that it was a mistake and next year the buy-ins will return to the usual figure of $5 300.

Rob Yong stated:

“It was a mistake to do the $10K buy-ins, but the good thing about making mistakes then you can learn and adjust”.

Rob told about this and other changes in the live series on the podcast of Jaime Staples. Yong said that he was dissatisfied with the results of the past Caribbean Poker Party and he decided to return the old buy-in.

“It was my decision to make it $10K this year, I don’t like what I decided... The tournament in the Caribbean this year, 950 players, biggest $10K in the world, but I still didn’t enjoy the tournament because it was full of qualifiers against the elite pros; there was no middle ground”.

Yong also added that at that time when the buy-in was $5 000, Partypoker decided to listen to the feedback of professionals. They asked to double the buy-in and their request was fulfilled, but that was a mistake.

Next year, the buy-in at Main Event PartyPoker Millions will be halved, and the guarantee will remain the same. In total, 4 series will be held, and WPT and WSOP stages will remain unchanged.
