МE WSOP Online features a record prize pool in online poker history
For some people, time has flown by very quickly, while for others it hasn't, but the WSOP Online 2020 is coming to its end. For 6 weeks now, poker players from various countries have been hunting for gold bracelets at WSOP.com and GGPoker.
Most of the awards have already been won, but it still remains to be seen who will become the Main Event winner. This year, the МE WSOP Online champ will receive a massive prize of $3 904 000, which is actually a huge amount for online poker.
Last week, a few poker news websites reported that the WSOP Online Main Event would be likely to take place with an overlay. As it turned out, they were wrong and the overlay was avoided. Moreover, players broke the claimed guarantee by more than $2 million.

For about two weeks, GGPoker carried out flights to the Main Event. Over 23 flights, the WSOP Onlline 2020 ME collected 5 802 entries, which formed a $27 559 500 prize pool. Until now, no online tournament in the history of poker has featured such a massive guarantee.
Day 2 highlights
Day 2 combined poker players who have successfully finished Day 1s. The ITM zone started with 728th place, and hundreds of poker players have already received their payments.
It is noteworthy to point out some famous poker pros, who failed to reach the Main Event finals but finished Day 2 in the money:
- Isaac Haxton (121st place and $24 886)
- Sam Greenwood (76th place and $30 776)
- Kahle Burns (52nd place and $39 214)
Kahle Burns is the only player of three professionals to have two gold bracelets. Unfortunately, he failed to gain his third WSOP trophy.
For the time being, 38 players remain in the Main Event race. The next minimum payout is $39 214, and each of the four finalists will receive over $1 300 000 upon completion of the tournament.
American player Bryan Piccoli, who played at the 2017 WSOP Main Event final table, ranks first on the chip count. He has a chance to repeat his success, though not offline, but online.
The ME WSOP Online final takes place on September 5 at 6:00 pm (UTC). Everyone interested will be able to watch the ME final live on the official Twitch channel of GGPoker.
