Mikalai Pobal won the 2nd Main Event EPT

The players from all over the world often take part at EPT, and EPT Prague is not an exception. This year, the poker players from different countries came to the festival in order to fight for big prizes.

20 participants of different nationalities were among 24 best players of Main Event EPT Prague. The prize pool reached the mark of €5 596 000 and the winner earned €1 000 000.

Mikalai Pobal: from short stack to the chip leader  

At the time when only four poker players remained in the game, Mikalai Pobal had the shortest stack with only 12BB. First, he won the chips with A-K against a pair of queens, and then he successfully doubled with a pair of queens against a pair of tens and led the chip account.

Soon, Mikalai managed to beat the Israeli player Gaby Livshitz. Q-J-3 came to the flop, Livshitz had a top pair with A-Q and he decided to go all-in. The Belarusian player made a call with a pair of aces and Gaby finished his play in the 4th place.

Pobal won the second EPT Main Event in his career  

Mikalai Pobal managed to repeat his seven-year-old achievement at EPT Barcelona. There he won Main Event of the series and earned $1 237 000 for it. Today Mikalai became the champion again and he entered the history of poker, because there is only one player who was able to do this twice: Victoria Coren Mitchell.

Before the start of final heads-up, Mikalai Pobal and Norbert Szecsi began to discuss a deal, but they didn’t find a common denominator. In a high pressure battle, Pobal became the champion. He got the main trophy and €1 000 000 of prize money.
