Mike Leah took 4th place in $3 200 WPT Omaha championship event
The results of the second WPT championship tournament became known on Tuesday. This event took place based on three different buy-in levels, but the most attention was caught by the most expensive version for $3 200.
The most award-winning poker player at the final table was Benny Glaser. He has three WSOP bracelets and many other awards. Ironically, Benny eliminated during the second hand of the finals against Paresh Doshi.
Canadian high roller Mike Leah made a little deeper run in this event. Mike played almost the entire tournament under the careful strategy, applying a tight style, but ended up facing a cooler. The last battle for Mike was a hand in which he flopped a set, and his opponent improved to a full house on the turn and knocked Leah out of the game in fourth place. For this result, Mike received $76 700 in prize money.
The third place was taken by a strong regular player Laszio "omaha4rollz" Bujtas. Laszio lost almost his entire stack playing two unsuccessful hands against Manzano and soon finished his participation in the $3 200 WPT Omaha Championship.
Alex Manzano and Paresh Doshi entered heads-up with stacks amounting to over a hundred big blinds each, which allowed them to play slowly and carefully. At some point, the rivals agreed to share prize money, but according to the rules, the battle had to continue for a minimum of $100 000 to a champion.
After that, the finalists fought for more than an hour. In the last hand, Manzano went all-in with a set against Paresh's two pairs, and neither the flop nor the turn helped Doshi to improve his hand. Alex Manzano eventually won the event and became a WPT champion.
