Mikita Badziakouski Crowned Champion in $1M WPT Big One for One Drop

Mikita Badziakouski wins prestigious WPT Big One Drop in Vegas

In an incredibly expensive charity tournament in Vegas, a six-way final table was played to crown the champion. Mikita Badziakouski became the WPT Big One Drop champion and won a record prize money of $7,114,500. Only 17 players took part in the tournament with a buy-in of $1,000,000, which was held in Las Vegas as part of the WPT World Championship festival. At the same time, only the best four managed to get into the ITM zone.

Only six high rollers took part in the third day. The chip leader at the start was Dan Smith, who, after winning a huge hand against Phil Ivey, did not give up the chip lead to anyone. However, his result was ultimately only third place. Indian businessman Suvarna and experienced player Petrangelo failed to make it into the prizes.

Badziakouski started the final day as the third stack of six players, but already at the 5-max stage he had only 19 BB. A double up against Nick Petrangelo (A7 vs J8) helped him stay in the game. Mikita then single-handedly dispatched Ike Haxton to fourth place, winning the 88 vs AQs coinflip. And in the heads-up, the opponent of the future champion was the ex-football player from Austria and friend of Fedor Holz, Mario Mosboeck.

Mikita started head-to-head battle with a shorter stack of 53 BB against his opponent's 83 BB. The key moment in the heads-up was the hand in which he collected a straight on the turn against Mario's two pair (watch from 3:53:00):

In the final hand, Mosboeck four-bet shoved with KJo, Badziakouski called with A9o and won the hand. Thus, he won the biggest tournament in his career and brought his offline prize money to $50,000,000.

"I feel great. This is the biggest tournament I've ever won. I've had good luck in a few coolers. It's always like that in poker: you need to be lucky. Today, success was on my side."
