Nebraska and Virginia residents voted to legalize casinos
Given the economic losses that arose as a result of quarantine measures designed to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic, the governments of various states in the USA began to look for sources of additional funding in order to fill holes in the budget.
As is known, during the United States presidential elections, citizens elect not only presidents but also governors, senators, as well as support certain social and economic initiatives through voting.
Thus, residents of Virginia and Nebraska voted to legalize casinos. In Nebraska, gambling establishments will become legal across the state. As for Virginia, casinos will appear only in four cities.
Curiously, the electorate of these states actively opposed gambling earlier. However, it is difficult to argue with the fact that tax revenues from gambling can help strengthen the economy and enhance the quality of life of the citizens.

Now, it will be necessary to amend the Constitution to allow gambling in the given states. In Nebraska, tax revenue from gambling will be used to reduce property taxes. According to preliminary estimates, tax income derived from opening casinos will amount to about $65 million. In Nebraska, casinow will open at racetracks, as well as near highways in Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, Columbus, Sioux City, and Hastings.
In the state of Virginia, gambling establishments will open only in a few cities: Norfolk, Portsmouth, Bristol, and Danville. Caesars Entertainment plans to build a casino in Danville, while Hard Rock International intends to open a casino in Bristol.
Thus, the number of U.S. states, where gambling is illegal, is reducing.
