Negreanu Lost Heads-Up in PGT Mixed Games Event to Urbanovich

Dzmitry Urbanovich won $10K 8-Game PGT Mixed Games II

The PGT series of mixed games continues in Las Vegas, which has attracted famous professionals and fans of various types of poker from around the world. The $10K 8-Game tournament came down to a final confrontation between EPT Dublin 2016 champion Dzmitry Urbanovich and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu. They were playing for an impressive $279,800 in prize money, which Urbanovich suggested they split equally because the stacks of both finalists were roughly equal. But Negreanu replied that "in principle he will never share the winnings with anyone else". Therefore, as Dzmitry himself said in an interview after the tournament, he "was forced to win it all".

It is worth noting that many believed that KidPoker would take the title in this event, as he was a large chip leader with five participants in the game. It was also he who knocked out Chino Rheem, who recently won the event in this series, in a big hand.

Heads-up lasted about an hour and the game was even for most of that time. Most hands ended in either a fold or a raise and fold. But then, when the game went into PLO format, the finalists played two big pots and that was it. The champion was a Polish grinder, who took home the main prize in the amount of $179,200. Negreanu got only $117,600.
