Patrick Leonard assessed England's squad in the EURO 2020 final
On July 1, the EURO 2020 came to an end with the final match between Italy and England. The national teams drew in regulation time, and then Italy defeated England in a penalty shootout.
The final was played at Wembley Stadium: 67 000 people came to see the fighting. Famous British poker player Patrick Leonard was one of the fans. Throughout the Championship, Patrick rooted for England, but after losing to Italy, he criticized England's players.
On his Twitter page, Leonard presented his own assessment of the England squad as well as their coach:
- Jordan Pickford – 8
- Kyle Walker – 8
- Luke Shaw – 8
- Harry Maguire – 8
- John Stones – 8
- Declan Rice – 8
- Kalvin Phillips – 8
- Kieran Trippier – 7
- Mason Mount – 4
- Harry Kane – 3
- Jordan Henderson – 4
- Gareth Southgate – 2
For some reason, Raheem Sterling is not on the list. Either Leonard forgot about him, or Raheem, in Patrick's opinion, did not play well enough to earn at least 1 point.
