Paul Phua comments on future of live poker and coronavirus
Paul Phua is a successful Malaysian businessman and high-profile poker player who likes taking part in the most expensive cash games across the globe.
The guy is currently in Sochi (Russia), where he arrived to take part in the MILLIONS Super High Roller Series 2020. The other day, he managed to finish second in the short deck event with $25 000 buy-in. Then, Paul took down the $100K No Limit Hold’em tournament, having earned $1 512 000.
While participating in the tourneys of the series, the Triton Poker owner was interviewed by the face of partypoker in Russia Maria Lav. In the interview, Phua commented on short deck tournaments and why he likes playing them, as well as current situation concerning coronavirus.
«I think there is a merit to the panic, especially for older people as fatality rate is higher. I think, it is very critical for every country involved to prepare for the virus in the early stage. In Italy, they weren’t prepared and Italy is now under lockdown. Some panic might be overblown but preparedness for the virus is very important», the Malaysian said.
