Phil Hellmuth: "I won $11 million in cash games, I’m way ahead in High Rollers"

Phil Hellmuth

Some days ago, it became known that heads-up battle between Negreanu and Hellmuth in the High Stakes Duel show was postponed to 31 March. The illness of one of the members of film crew of PokerGO studio became the reason of such a decision.

Now, Hellmuth and Negreanu have time to fight on the Internet. Phil likes to boast of his poker achievements and Daniel Negreanu has decided to catch him on this:

In response to this, Phil wrote a tweet and listed all his merits:

  • Over $11 000 000 won the in cash games;
  • Victories in the numerous tournaments;
  • 15 gold bracelets;
  • $24 000 000 won in the live tournaments (13 million of which – at WSOP).

Despite the impressive list of merits, Hellmuth has stated that he renders homage to the generation of current players and he doesn’t claim that he is the best player. However, he has every chance to compete for this title.

According to his list of merits, the first point is the most interesting, because there is no available statistics on Hellmuth’s winnings in the cash games. It remains to take on trust, but such an amount is quite possible, given the fact that Hellmuth has participated in Poker Night show more than 60 times, and he has played tens of thousands of hands in Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker.

In the high roller cash games, very large amounts of money are raffled and you can win several hundred thousand dollars in one hand. Therefore, it is likely that Hellmuth won $11 000 000 in the cash games in his entire career.

In any case, we are waiting for an interesting heads-up battle between Hellmuth and Negreanu. Who do you think will become the winner?
