Phil Ivey got his first cash at WSOP 2019

Phil Ivey 2019Legendary poker professional and winner of 10 WSOP bracelets, Phil Ivey, didn’t miss an opportunity to play at the jubilee World Series of Poker. Casino employees and players gladly noted his presence at the Series.

But, unexpectedly for everyone, the eminent professional registered in a pair of very inexpensive events. After that, the rumor spread through the poker community: «Did Phil Ivey overplay?», «Is Ivey a bankrupt?», «Did Ivey lose all the money in Macau?», etc.

However, such talk rises almost every year since it is not the first time Phil has played cheap WSOP events, almost in parallel with high roller tournaments. Perhaps, it is a way to have fun for him, or the guy just fulfills the conditions of some tricky prop bet. It doesn’t matter. The most important thing is that low-cost game players get the opportunity to play with great Phil Ivey at the one table.

Phil participated in the $800 NLH Deepstack tournament (Event # 37). In this event, Ivey got his first cash at the WSOP 2019. Ivey took the 64th place and received $3 700 of prize money.

The poker professional was knocked out of the game by Christopher Csik, an American poker player. Phil went all-in on the preflop, having a pair of tens. It took Csik a few minutes to decide calling with AQ. An Ace came out on the flop, which eventually brought Christopher victory in this battle. He finished the tournament 11th and won $19 600.

After leaving the NLH Deepstack tournament, Ivey signed up for the Mixed NLH / PLO Deepstack event for $600 but did not last long there.
