PokerStars leaves Swiss market

Gambling operators have been working without license in Switzerland for several years. Due to the fact that the authorities did not possess any mechanism for their control, the gambling industry prospered more and more. On 1 July, a law came into force in which the state can control the illegal operators. As a result, gambling started to close its branches.

The largest poker room PokerStars became one of those operators who decided to leave Swiss market. Now, in accordance with the law PokerStars is required to cooperate with local legal casinos in order have the right to provide gambling services.

Until 1 July, PokerStars continued working and looked for the partners at the same time. It failed to come to an agreement and PokerStars stopped its work. However its management doesn’t stop searching for a partner and promises to return soon. Meanwhile, Swiss residents can enjoy poker at PokerStars dot-eu or dot-com.
