PokerStars to Host WCOOP Series with $80,000,000 GTD in September
The legendary World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) series returns to PokerStars this fall. Over $80,000,000 in prize money will be up for grabs during the online championship.
The WCOOP starts on September 10th and runs until October 4th. Players can expect 110 tournaments on different disciplines: guarantees will range from several thousand to 6,000,000 dollars. The buy-in range is from $5.50 to $25,000.
During three weeks, 12 title events will be held, the champions of which will receive special trophies. Of course, it will not do without leaderboards, the total prize pool of which will be $100,000.

The most interesting day of the series in the tournament schedule will be October 1st. On this day, three Main Holdem events will take place:
- Main Event WCOOP-L with a buy-in of $109 and a guarantee of $2,500,000;
- Main Event WCOOP-M for $1,050 and $4,000,000 guarantee;
- WCOOP-H Main Event with a buy-in of $10,300 and a fantastic prize pool of $6,000,000.
Last year, in the $10,300 buy-in Main Event, about 760 players collected a prize pool of $7,600,000. Then the Portuguese Luis Faria became the champion and received $1,293,925 in prize money for the first place. Given recent streak records at other poker rooms, Main Tournament on PokerStars promises to be very popular this fall as well.
As for satellites, there will be enough of them for the WCOOP series. The cost of qualifying tournaments will start from $0.55, and the room will also host special Spin&Go with buy-ins of $0.75, $4 and $20. You can get to the Main Events using Fast Track satellites with buy-ins starting at $2.20.
Tournament Tickets via Power Path Promotion
As in the case of the past series in the poker room, this time the poker room also tied the Power Path promotion to the WCOOP festival. Holders of bronze, silver and gold passes will be able to receive tickets to the tournaments of the series with the corresponding buy-ins. All bronze passes can be used to participate in any event with a buy-in of $109. Silver Pass holders will be able to exchange their passes for one of two ticket packages to choose from.

- 1 ticket to WCOOP for 530$;
- 3 tickets to WCOOP for 215$;
- 6 tickets to WCOOP for 109$;
- 8 tickets to WCOOP for 55$;
- 10 tickets to WCOOP for 22$.
Silver Pass Package WCOOP #2:
- 2 tickets to WCOOP-M Main Event for 1 050$;
- 2 tickets to WCOOP-L Main Event for 109$;
- 8 tickets to WCOOP for 22$.
Owners of Gold Passes can have access to a really special Gold Pass WCOOP:
- 1 ticket to WCOOP for 5 200$;
- 4 tickets to WCOOP for 1 050$;
- 4 tickets to WCOOP for 109$;
- 6 tickets to WCOOP for 55$.
WCOOP Special Leaderboards
According to tradition, the participants of the series will be able to compete and receive additional prizes in four leaderboards with a total prize pool of $100,000.
The champion of the main leaderboard will receive the status of the best player of the WCOOP series and a prize in the amount of $25,000.
Winners of other leaderboards also will win very good prizes:
- Low – $5,000
- Medium – $10,000
- High – $15,000
This fall, the WCOOP series will be held on PokerStars for the 22nd time. In total, for 21 years, the large-scale festival gathered more than 7,800,000 participants from more than 70 countries, and the amount of prize money drawn exceeded the mark of 1.2 billion dollars.
