PokerStars to host Winter Series with $50 000 000 GTD

On December 25, PokerStars launches one of its largest poker series. The events will be held for 3 weeks and during this time, players will be able to participate in 242 tournaments with a total guarantee of $50 000 000.

All New Year holidays will be full of non-stop tournaments with various buy-ins. The cheapest entry will cost $5.5, but there will be also events with an entry worth over $1 000.

The main discipline is to be Hold'em, but the participants will be able to play Omaha and other types of poker as well. This can be done in turbo tournaments and bounty events.

Key tournaments at the Winter Series

On the night of 31st December to 1st January, Stars will raffle $1 900 000 in 12 different events. The lowest buy-in is $5.5, and the most expensive entry cost $2 100. In total, there will be two tournaments with a guarantee of $1 000 000 held during the series:

  • On January 5: buy-in – $109, guarantee – $1 000 000.
  • On January 7: buy-in – $10 300, guarantee – $1 000 000.

Three Main Events

The Winter Series includes three Main Events with different buy-ins. All of them will take place on January 12, and the winner of each tournament will receive six-figure prize money.

  • Low ME: buy-in – $55; guarantee – $1 000 000.
  • Medium ME: buy-in – $530; guarantee – $1 500 000.
  • High ME: buy-in – $5 200; guarantee – $2 000 000.

Sunday Million with a triple guarantee

On December 29, Stars will host Sunday Million with the usual buy-in, but an unusually large guarantee. Players will be able to participate in the tournament for $215 and compete for their part of the $3 000 000 guarantee. The event will be held in a two-day format.
