Provocative Mike Matusow Documentary Set for Early 2024 Release
A new documentary about the life and career of poker legend Mike Matusow is reportedly in post-production and is scheduled to be released in early 2024.
And judging by the trailer, it will be a "raw and real" film, which will show all the drama associated with Matusow, including some of his famous "breakdowns and blow ups".
According to the film's producer and director Frank Zarrillo, through this movie he hopes to dispel any misconceptions that poker fans have about Matusow.
"A lot of people have the wrong idea about him, that he's bad, or unapproachable, or a jerk. I spent a lot of time with Mike at casinos, doctor appointments, outings with family and friends, restaurants, and more. He's a generous guy who always tells the truth and is honest with you."
Zarrillo also said that there couldn't be a better person for a poker documentary. Mike is known for his outspoken nature and his disregard for public opinion. He consistently speaks his mind without hesitation, regardless of the potential repercussions. But Frank also notes that his subject is a good guy who has frequently encountered misfortune throughout his life.
The film spans several years, including Matusow's appearances at the WSOP in Rio and at Bally's.
