Sam Trickett: «When I just started climbing the poker ladder, I wanted to be the best in the world»

In one of the latest episodes of the Weekly Poker Showdown, Jaime Staples had a talk with PartyPoker Team Pro – Sam Trickett.

Sam is a professional poker player from the UK, who was seriously engaged in football before starting his poker career. Throughout years of playing, the guy has earned over $21 000 000 in live events, and we can only guess how much he has made in online games.

Speaking to Jaime, Trickett explained how playing poker is different from playing football. This is what he said:

«There is a difference between football and poker. It’s quite difficult. When you are in a team, you want to do everything for everyone (all team). When you are at a poker table, you’re trying to get the other guys’ money, and it’s a bit weird».  

Sam also shared information on how he had behaved at the poker table at the beginning of his career:

«When I was climbing the poker ladder, I was obsessed with trying to get to the top of the game. I wanted to be the best in the world, that’s why I was constantly battling with all the pros».
