Stephen Chidwick won his first WSOP bracelet

Stephen Chidwick 2019Stephen Chidwick won more than $22,000,000 in the live tournaments; he got to WSOP final tables 13 times and to ITM 52 times. In the ten years since his play at WSOP, there was still one thing that was missing for him – gold bracelet.

Chidwick flew to Las Vegas and registered in the PLO tournament in the last minute. If he was just 15 minutes late, this victory wouldn't have happened.

“It’s super ironic. Usually, I play every single tournament. Usually I play a final table, bust and then register a $1,500 Stud immediately. Just like play everything. I come in here halfway through, haven’t played any of the others and then just win the first one I play. Pretty funny,” - he said.

Chidwick became a chip leader at the final table of the tournament and consolidated his position with every hand. The opponents of Stephen left the tournament one by one and only James Chen left in the final.

Heads-up

Heads-up turned out to be fast enough and Chen lost almost all his stack. The poker player from Taiwan paid Chidwick’s set of aces off during three streets and got to the showdown. After that, very few chips left in his stack and Chidwick brought his advantage to the bitter end. Stephen finally won his first bracelet within 10 years of his play at WSOP and went to celebrate the triumph with his loved ones.
