Three girls played at the WPT Venetian final table
The WPT Venetian final table featured three female players: Kitty Kuo, Daniela Rodriguez, and Kyna England. Apart from them, three more male finalists fought for the Mike Sexton Champions Cup: Chad Eveslage, Mike Liang, and Tim McDermott.
In World Poker Tour history, women have only twice managed to win the WPT titles. These were Van Nguyen and Ema Zajmovic, in 2008 and 2017 respectively. At the 2021 WPT Venetian, each of the three girls had a chance to input their name in history, but none of them succeeded.
It was Chad Eveslage to emerge victorious. The guy was one of the chip leaders at the beginning of the final table, and he continued to hold the leading position until the very end. In heads-up, Chad was opposed by Mike Liang, and each finalist had a 115 BB stack. The fight lasted about 50 minutes, before the crucial hand occurred.
Liang moved all-in hitting trips of tens, while Eveslage collected a straight. After that, Mike had very few chips left in his stack, which played into Chad’s hands as he eventually won the event. For first place, Eveslage received $910 000 in prize money.
By the way, Kyna England achieved the best result among the girls: 3rd place and $448 000. The prize money is her current best cash, but she had to postpone the dream of winning a tournament for later.
