Tony G intends to play a charity heads-up against Hellmuth
Tony G is one of the most charismatic personalities in poker, who has lots of fans and haters around the world. He is a tough poker player and dangerous opponent, a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Tony is a man of varied attainments. For 5 years, he worked as a member of the European Parliament from Lithuania. Also, it is worth noting that Antanas Guoga (Tony G’s real name) is actively assisting charitable organizations and gives most of his poker winnings to these institutions.
For that reason, Tony G came up with the idea to hold a charity heads-up match. The guy wants to play against Phil Hellmuth, and here is what Antanas wrote on his Twitter page:
Tony G and Phil Hellmuth are two very outstanding poker players, and it’s always exciting to watch them playing poker. Their game is full of emotions, trolling, and impressive hands. If these two players meet in heads-up, then a magnificent show is guaranteed.
It remains to be seen whether Phil Hellmuth will agree to such an offer. It will be also quite difficult to broadcast the poker heads-up on TV.
If this heads-up is carried out, it has the potential to "overcome" the Negreanu vs. Polk heads-up in terms of popularity. Let us recall that Douglas Polk won that battle by a large margin.
While Phil Hellmuth is thinking about the offer, here's a video of the epic confrontation between Phil and Tony G on the Big Game poker show:
