Two-time WSOP champion is accused of federal crime
Some days ago, the English-speaking poker community began to discuss the news that US poker player and the owner of two WSOP bracelets Brent Carter was charged with a federal crime.
72-year-old Brent Carter hasn't always been a poker player. In the 70s, he made a career as a professional racing jockey.
His plans were thwarted by the allegations of fraud in 1976, due to which his license was suspended. However, after a while, Carter was acquitted.
Brent wasn’t able to forgive the New York State Gaming Commission for his ruined jockey career and a real feud began between them. Over the years, he sent "parcels" to the central office of the New York Gambling Commission three times, which contained a white powder of unknown origin.

The results of examination showed that the powder was harmless and the packages were nothing more than a joke from Carter. New York City law enforcement "appreciated" Brent's trick and warned him about the future problems with law.
Police warnings didn’t stop Carter and he sent a package with white powder again, which turned out to be a talc. After the fourth time, he was charged with a federal crime.
Obviously, the FBI has got so mad and now, Brent faces five years in prison and a year of probation for "deceiving the federal law enforcement". Naturally, his age will be taken into account and it is quite possible that Carter will get off with a fine.
Throughout his poker career, Brent Carter has earned nearly $3 100 000 in the live tournaments. He won his two WSOP gold bracelets in Hold'em and Omaha back in the early 90s. However, since 2015, he hasn't shown any results.
