Vanessa Selbst to Appear in an Episode of the "Billions"
Vanessa Selbst is one of the most successful tournament poker players of all time. She is the all-time leading female earner, with $11.9 million over her career. The 39-year-old is still more than $3.6 million ahead of the next highest female player (Kristen Bicknell and $7,255,874) despite retiring from poker more than five years ago.
And now, Selbst will add another impressive achievement to her resume. She will make her acting debut with a cameo appearance on the Billions series, created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. Interestingly, the first two also participated in the creation of the poker hit "Rounders".
The TV show Billions, featuring actors Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, is currently in the midst of its seventh and concluding season. It's worth noting that the series has had guest appearances from renowned poker players before, such as Phil Hellmuth, who is in the Poker Hall of Fame. Hellmuth had a small role in the first episode of the show's second season, titled "Optimal Game."
Vanessa Selbst is the latest addition to a distinguished lineup of poker professionals who have made appearances in movies and television shows. Alongside Hellmuth, other notable names include Johnny Chan, who had a memorable scene in the film "Rounders," and Daniel Negreanu, who made a quick appearance in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine".
