Winner of WSOP Europe Main Event to Bag Unprecedented €1.5 Million
The European leg of the World Series of Poker continued to do what the main festival has done so well this summer – set new records. The WSOP Europe 2023 ME became the largest Main Event in the history of the festival. The €10,350 buy-in tournament saw 817 entries, almost 50 entries more than the year before (that is, 763).
At the same time, this year's winner will be able to count on a prize payment of €1,500,000. This is also a new record, because before that the biggest win in such an event was €1,400,000 earned by Elio Fox in 2011.
Today is Day 4 of the principal tournament, with only 35 remaining poker players participating. The player from Bulgaria Yulian Bogdanov has the most chips in the stack – 155 big blinds.
The bubble stage ended the previous day, so all participants in today's game will already receive rewards for their efforts. All players remaining in the tournament have already guaranteed themselves a minimum payout of €35,500. One of the most famous poker players in the game can be considered Dario Sammartino.
Play in the tournament will continue today until the final six players are determined, and the broadcast will be available on the King's Casino Twitch channel.
