WPT at PartyPoker to take place after the change of nicknames

WPT at PartyPoker

Last year, due to Covid-19, the WPT series was forced to move online and was hosted by PartyPoker. Since then, close cooperation has continued. The next joint event will take place in the poker room from May 14 to June 2.

It was initially planned to run the series earlier, but there was a slight delay. In a press release, Partypoker provided explanations of the delay. The main reason is to give players some rest after the intense April race.

Apart from the Partypoker Powerfest, MTT grinders were focused on the SCOOP PokerStars and the GGPoker Spring Festival. Taking a short break, however, will generate stronger interest in the upcoming series.

In addition to the above, PartyPoker pushed back the start date to upgrade their software. As part of the updating, each player will be required to change their nickname when joining the game. This, according to PartyPoker, will impair the effectiveness of third-party tools and make the game fairer.

The WPT 2021 Online Series kicks off on May 14 with the $11 Micro Opener. This event marks the start of a 20-day series of tournaments costing between $5.50 and $3 200. Satellites to all events have already been launched and will take place throughout the series. Qualifying tournaments to the $3 200 Main Event start at $0.01; PartyPoker offers a three-stage entry system:

  • Stage 1 = $0.01 buy-in;
  • Stage 2 = $3.30 buy-in;
  • Stage 3 = $33 buy-in;
  • Stage 4 = It's only available to players who have successfully passed Stage 3; each Stage 4 satellite will grant 15 seats for the Main Event.

The $3M GTD Main Event will be the crown jewel of the festival, but players will also have a chance to succeed in 25 other tournaments. Do not miss a massive event at PartyPoker!
