WPT Gardens Poker champion was finally determined
On January 13th, 2020, six World Poker Tour Gardens Poker Championship finalists were ready to play the final table. But, owing to the coronavirus epidemic, the final was postponed for an indefinite period. 422 days later, six lucky players finally finished the tournament.
Live poker is slowly returning to Las Vegas, and six players, including Chance Kornuth, have been invited to the PokerGo studio to play the final table. An hour after the start of the game, the number of players dropped from six to five.
Tuan Phan was the main fighter of the evening. First, he knocked out Qing Liu in sixth place and then sent Straton Wilhelm to rest in fifth place.
The most famous poker player at the final table was Chance Kornuth. Chance played well but managed to take only fourth place, pocketing $195 000.

12 hands later, Markus Gonsalves holding pocket tens knocked out Jonathan Cohen who had pocket nines. Cohen's result was third place and a payout of $263 000.
Then, the final heads-up began. Gonsalves had an edge of 5 to 1. Tuan Phan often refused to play big pots with Gonsalves, so after three hours of heads-up play, he took the lead in terms of the stack. However, this turned out to be in vain, as Gonsalves quickly regained the lead and eventually defeated Phan.
Markus Gonsalves took the top prize of $554 500 and input his name in the history of the WPT Champions Cup. Having won the event, Markus said that his heads-up opponent had shown excellent play.
According to Gonsalves, he got very tired and at some point in the game and lost his advantage. The guy, however, pulled himself together and managed to win the tournament. Markus now has more WPT titles than Phil Hellmuth.
