WSOP Main Event Online 2020 results

The first-ever WSOP Online Main Event has become a truly record-breaking online poker tournament. The WSOP Event # 77: a No Limit Hold'em Main Event with a $5 000 buy-in collected 5 802 entries, which resulted in breaking the claimed guarantee of $25 000 000 by 2.5 million.

The Main Event WSOP Online 2020 at GGPoker set a few records, such as:

the biggest guarantee – $25 000 000;
the biggest prize pool among online poker tournaments – $27 550 500;
the most massive individual prize money in online poker – $3 904 685 (and 63 cents).

Bulgarian player Stoyan Madanzhiev became the WSOP Online 2020 Main Event champion. He won nearly $4 million. The player's emotions can be clearly seen in the video that he recorded right after the victory:

ME WSOP Online 2020 Final Day

There were 38 players to enter the WSOP ME 2020 final day. It’s worth noting that 11 participants of the final day qualified for the $5 000 Main Event through special satellites. Thus, 8 players invested $500 while 3 other participant won their seats for just $250. It’s pretty cool, considering that the minimum payment in the ITM zone was $39 214.

American poker pro Bryan Piccioli was the chip leader at the start of the day, having 18.4 million chips (92 BB). Briton Michael Cain ranked second with 15.9 million chips (80 BB). The future champion, Stoyan Madanzhiev, had the third-largest stack at the beginning of the ME final day – 15.3 million chips (76 BB).

Piccioli eventually ended up in 23rd place ($79 625), and Cain finished in 17th place ($113 465).

Many eminent poker professionals took part in the WSOP Online Main Event but didn’t manage to win it: Stefan Schillhabel (7th place – $467 825), Samuel Taylor (9th place – $230 395), Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle (11th place – $161 686), Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden (12th place – $161 686). The list of «losers» also includes some WSOP bracelet holders, namely Mike Leah (31st place – $55 880) and Jonas Lauck (34th place – $55 880).

WSOP ME Online Final Heads-Up

Bulgarian Stoyan Madanzhiev and Chinese Wenling Gao met in the final heads-up of the Main Event WSOP Online 2020. The girl had every chance of becoming the first female poker player to win the WSOP Main Event, especially considering the fact that she won a ME ticket through a $500 satellite.

Tyler Rueger started the final table with the biggest stack, but Madanzhiev and Gao overcame him by depriving the player of the chance to win the top prizes:

Wenling knocked Tyler Ruger out of the game in third place: Ruger went all-in with ace-queen and Gao called him with pocket kings. Then, the two strongest finalists continued to play with approximately equal stacks: Stoyan’s 147 000 000 against Gao’s 141 700 000.

However, their confrontation did not last long. In the final hand of the tournament, the girl received pocket aces, which is the strongest starting hand, but Madanzhiev managed to flop a nut straight.

Gao often takes part in Asian tournaments. The girl’s live poker earnings total to almost $700 000. Wenling received more than $ 2.7 million for the second place.

As for Madanzhiev, who calls himself a professional player (it’s written on his Instagram page), live tournaments don't seem to be an important part of his life as he has won around $30 000 offline. Anyway, the guy has input his name in the history of online poker as a Main Event WSOP Online champion, winning almost $4 million.
