If I could recall a poker memorable session I've had while playing poker was this online poker tournament I played on a friday night that won me the tournament.

It was the final table and a player and I was left to fight for the 1st place.

I was dealt with A♠️ Q♠️ which I raised. The player called, and I knew he wasn’t the type to give up easily.

The flop came Q♦ 8♠️ 4♠️. Top pair and a flush draw. I was feeling good. I bet, and he called.

Then came the J❤️ on the turn.

I bet again, but this time he raised.

My confidence disappeared. I started wondering if he had two pair or a set. Something felt wrong, but folding such a strong hand didn’t feel right either.

So I called.

The river brought the 2♠️ and I hit a flush!

He bet big, and after a brief pause, I called all in which he did too. He showed J♦ J❤️. My flush held, and I won the tournament that got me sweating moments earlier. It was one of the poker wins I still recall till date.

$500 to $5,000 PartyPoker Challenge: Day 4 – The Grind Hits a Wall

Every bankroll challenge has its testing moments, and Day 4 was definitely mine. If you’ve played poker long enough, you know the feeling: days where the runout never favors you, bad beats show up on cue, and nothing seems to go right. Today was simply the worst session of the challenge so far.

I just couldn't get anything going. Across 17 games played, the cards refused to cooperate, leaving me stuck in survival mode for most of the session. 

Day 4 Breakdown

• Games Played: 17
• Total Buy-ins: $31.90
• Total Cashes: $0.75
• Net Result: -$31.15
• Current Bankroll: $588.00

Silver Linings & Satellite Value

While the raw numbers look ugly with a minuscule $0.75 in direct cashes, it wasn't a total loss. I managed to bag a $5.50 ticket, adding some future EV to the bankroll. Combined with the $22 ticket won earlier in the challenge, I’ve got some high-value shots lined up for upcoming sessions without needing to pay full price out of pocket.

Looking Ahead

Losing sessions are an inevitable part of the process. The important thing is keeping tilt at bay, preserving the bankroll, and staying disciplined with standard bankroll management rules. We took a small hit today, but sitting at $588 keeps us well ahead of where we started.

We dust ourselves off and reset for Day 5. Onward! ♠️♥️♣️♦️

PartyPoker Bankroll Challenge: $500 to $5,000 | Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of my new PartyPoker Bankroll Challenge! The goal is simple, but ambitious: turn a $500 starting bankroll into $5,000.

Thanks to a sweet $109 score the day before kickoff, we actually officially started Day 1 sitting on a healthy $656.00. Having that extra cushion right off the bat gives us great momentum as we dive into the volume!

📊 Day 1 Recap & Stats

Day 1 was all about grinding out volume and building satellite equity. We put in a solid session across 32 tournaments and micro-stakes events.

• Games Played: 32
• Total Buy-ins: $63.80
• Direct Cashes: $40.50
• Satellite Tickets Earned: $27.50 ($5.50 Ticket + $22.00 Ticket)
• Net Cash P/L: -$23.30
• Net Value (P/L + Tickets): +$4.20
• Ending Cash Bankroll: $632.70 (+$27.50 in ticket value)

🏆 Session Highlight

The highlight of the day was taking down 1st Place in the $1.10 Bounty Hunter 8-Max Hyper ($40 Gtd)!

It was a fast-paced grind, but we managed to ship the win for $18.97 (including a huge $13.16 in bounties)! Bounties were definitely key to mitigating the swing on direct cash returns today.

🎫 Satellite Success

Even though direct tournament cashes were slightly down relative to total buy-ins, the satellite run made up for it:

• $5.50 Ticket banked!
• $22.00 Ticket banked!

Adding $27.50 in high-value tournament entries into our inventory allows us to take shots at bigger prize pools in upcoming sessions without putting direct pressure on our cash bankroll.
