Hi i wanna share my recent experience with 2 big scores i had playing freerolls in the last 2 weeks, i won the coin freeroll that had just under 3300 people playing for $258, i started the day with only $1 bank roll for that site and was told by a friend to go get myself in this game so i did and 5 and a half hours later i took down the trophy and a nice prize to boost my bankroll! Then 1 week later 888 have a 20k GTD freeroll with yet again another 3300 players entered could i do it again on a different site? unfortunately i could only get 2nd in this one and bagged myself $830 to almost triple my bank roll on 888, i wanna thank both sites for putting on these great tournaments for all off us to play for free and build a bankroll with, all i gotta do now is transfer my freeroll strategy into paid game strat as i always bust out the ones i paid for haha, Im gonna stick to the micro stakes on coin and see if i can get my bank roll moving in the right direction and treat myself to some low buying's on 888 to see if i can grow my bankroll over there.
In the past i have been told by friends that the freerolls are not worth playing well i got over 1000 reasons why they are worth playing after bagging over 1k in 2 weeks, so if your one to turn your nose up at a freeroll then take a look at my pics i have put on this post and reconsider next time you see a nice guaranteed freeroll going you can play get yourself in them, ill be playing more for sure.
ty for reading and let me know your freeroll stories below \m/

$350 CM Freeroll (Guru)
One must collect at least 1,500 Aura points to qualify for this tourney – that’s an automatic grant of the "Guru" status. Worth it: fewer participants, fatter prizes.

How to join private freerolls
Once you secure your first status on Cardmates.co.uk, you’ll need to register your GGPoker nickname on our site. Click your profile pic and select "Status" to hit a special form that registers usernames. Do it once, and you're always on the Friday tournament lists.
Note: You'll get a notification as soon as you unlock a new status on our website.
Registration for the special GGPoker freerolls is automatic. Find Friday tournaments in the poker room’s lobby using filters: Tourney – Private. Reg opens about two hours before kickoff.
Crucial point! We pass the list of players to GGPoker every Monday. Miss the new status deadline? You'll be able to join the fatter game next week – keep this in mind.
Your epic journey on Cardmates.co.uk is about to kick off! Best of luck, mates!
Additional info:
- Each time you achieve a new status, you’ll be automatically added to the matching freeroll list. This means you won't be able to play multiple tourneys at once, only the one that mirrors your status.
- Any Friday freeroll requires at least 6 players to be run. Once we record eight participants with a specific status, the corresponding event will appear in the GGPoker lobby.
- To rack up Aura points faster and climb statuses, check the table in this article. It’s simple: earn points when other users rate your blog posts and comment on them. Extra points drop as you leave reviews on poker sites/online casinos, or when new bloggers start following you, etc.
Cheers!
Played the PartyPoker freeroll this evening. My early hands were fairly unremarkable. I won a few small pots but nothing to justify wasting electrons in describing. Picked up pocket 4s which turned a full house, and was modestly paid on them from my opponent who rivered a straight and called my three-bet. Put me up to about 120k in chips.
A few hands later, I open A9 of clubs, my opponent re-raises. It folds around to the player on my right who calls. I also call. Flop TA9 rainbow. Two pair: nice. Player on my right checks, I check (in hindsight, I should have bet something here, but it's easy to be wise after the event), and the original re-raiser checks. Turn is a 6. Nothing worrying, and it's on this street I bet. 30k, just slightly over the pot, as the player to my right is reasonably short and has roughly that in chips, and I have my eye on them. Plus, I think I have a read on the original re-raiser. They call, and short stack folds. Turn is the Q.
At this point, given their opening re-raise, I think I'm up against pocket kings. My reasoning being that there's an ace in my hand and on the flop, and I'm assuming the shorter stack on my right called with an ace, meaning my re-raiser can't have pocket aces. And I'm not sure they re-raise with KJ or 78, so they don't have a straight. Which leaves pocket kings, maybe ace-king. I think jacks and queens probably fold on the turn, and therefore I'm ahead. So I put my remaining stack in, 81k into an 87k pot. They call and I'm right - they don't have AA, but I'm also very, very wrong. Their hand isn't KK or AK, it's AQ. And that filthy, treasonous river sends me to an early rail. So no freeroll cash for me this week. Still, that's poker.
Alright everyone, it’s time to highlight last week’s lucky winners!
🎉 Here’s a short recap: every Monday, as part of our Bloggers Challenge, we randomly select 10 participants who each receive a $30 cash prize. To be eligible, all you need to do is publish at least one blog post in the Blogs section during the week.

Hello Cardmates, I had a complete meltdown yesterday my game was at Rock bottom. I couldn’t Win a hand all premium hands LOOSE all pocket pairs BEAT. I was in a complete mess, I decided to step away and shut down ( A good old afternoon siesta) which to be honest is pretty much the norm for me.
l came back refreshed and focused, determined I was going to beat my misfortunes and yes I did.l entered the $0.50-$5.50 tournament ticket satty as I had very little 🤑 left in my account and won🎟️
I then entered the $5.50 Bigshot and made the money, no Ft though. Making the money was a big step forward from where I was earlier on in the day and raised some much needed funds for poker chips 🤑
I awoke this morning feeling great, I had overcome my bad day and come out the other side before the day was done 🥳💙. So I decided to go on and see what Tournaments were going and I entered a $2.20 PKO which I managed to win 🏆 1st 🥇 place
Now this is a rare thing winning the tournament, so the point of the story is this, we go through this process and loose a lot more than we win. Why do we choose to put our selves through this whole process for a moment, when we spend most of our time at the other end 🤔🤪
Cardmates, I am of the opinion we must get off more with being unhappy and the fight to snatch it back!

Is it a matter of days, weeks or a % of your bank roll?
We all go through downswings but when do you call it so?
The question is mainly about mtt's but cash players please let me know your thoughts too.

Hey everyone!
We’re currently on the lookout for a new home for our private community freerolls, but for now the Friday games on GGPoker are still going strong. So tonight we’ve got another one lined up for you guys.
The Cardmates Freeroll (Fan) with a $150 GTD kicks off at 8pm (UK time) and is open to everyone who has Fan status on the site.
We’ve been told that all the tickets should already be credited to your accounts.
Just a quick reminder of the key details about our private GGPoker tournaments:
- The tourney shows up in the GG lobby two hours before kick-off. So you’ll see it there from 6pm.
- We send the list of eligible players to GGPoker every Monday. If you’ve got «Fan» status but no ticket, chances are you didn’t register your GG nickname on Cardmates.co.uk in time.
- How to register your GG nickname? Click your avatar ➡️ Go to «Status» ➡️ You’ll see the field where you can add your GGPoker nickname. Simple as that.
If you’ve got any questions about our community freerolls, just drop a private message to our mod: d19932808 (he’ll sort you out).
GL GL!
If you play on regularly, you’ve probably seen the $20K Monthly Freeroll pop up in the tournament lobby. On paper it sounds brilliant – a big prize pool and it costs absolutely nothing to enter. Free money, right?
Well… sort of.
Freerolls always attract massive fields. You’re not sitting down with a couple hundred players – you’re usually looking at tens of thousands. That means even if you play well, you need a lot of patience and a fair bit of luck just to get near the money.
Then there’s the early stages of the tournament. Anyone who has played a freeroll knows exactly what I’m talking about. Players shoving with anything and everything. You can pick up pocket aces, get all the chips in, and someone calls with something like 7-3 offsuit because, well… why not? They didn’t pay to enter.
It can be chaos.
But to be fair, that’s also part of the charm. Some players have actually built small bankrolls from freerolls like this, slowly turning nothing into something. If you’ve got the time and the patience, there is always that chance of a decent score.
Personally, I see it as a bit of fun more than anything serious. A huge field, a long grind, and the occasional moment where you question how someone just cracked your premium hand with complete rubbish.
That’s freeroll poker.
And whether you love them or hate them, you can’t really complain too much when the buy-in is exactly zero.
😄😆
Yeah, that happens to me too. If I know there’s a chance of interruptions, I usually avoid long MTTs and just play shorter games. Tournaments need full focus, and without it the decisions get much worse
