Hi all,

Thought I’d finally stop lurking and put a few words down. I’m Tom from Reading and I play online poker as an amateur, mostly in the evenings once things settle down. Poker for me is a way to switch off rather than chase anything serious. I’ve always liked freerolls. There’s something about sitting down with nothing on the line that makes the game feel lighter. Alongside that, I enjoy a bit of sports betting, mainly football, usually at the weekend. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t, but that’s part of the fun. I’ve recently signed up to Cardmates.co.uk and decided to start a blog here. I’ll drop in from time to time with a few thoughts or updates as I go.

Liverpool - Burnley. English Premier League. 17th January. Your thoughts?

Did I say hi? Hi.

So the match to be played at Anfield and as I noticed Liverpool usually shows home advantage, but who knows, right? Burnley is strong in away games, too. Expect one goal from each side by analysing their last matches.

Even dare to predict the Correct Score will be 2:1. Reds often control games at home but don’t think they’ll get huge scores against Burnley.

Got a gut feeling Reds are the favourites this year.

So my money’s on Liverpool winning. That's an obvious shout for me. Reds aren’t once and done, are they? Guess I’ll stop at Over 2.5. When Liverpool dominates the field, they score again and again…

Let’s wait till Saturday to see what it brings to us. I’m a casual bettor but my predictions turn out to be winning quite often.

Hi folks! I’m Dave, from Birmingham.

Currently working as a delivery driver at FedEx. Not a total fish in poker, but I’m sure I’ve got a lot to learn about it. My job occupies 85% of my day and by the time I’m home I'm too knackered for much else. Workdays are sometimes really tough. Poker’s the one thing I actually look forward to doing.

You’ll usually find me playying 10p/20p tables at GGPoker and Pokerstars.

Except for poker, seeing a bit of the world makes me happy. My last trip was to the Louvre Museum in Paris almost a year ago. Have modest background in art and its history but still feel impressed after that visit .

Joined CardMates to pick up some tips and read interesting stories from other grinders, and hopefully find a poker mate or two… or a bunch of mates 🙂

Hiya, it’s David. I’ve already checked some posts in blogs and saw that only gamblers and poker players are here. Or am I wrong?

Decided to say “hello” to meet any fellow bettors here. I’m still obsessed with sports in my 50’s. Feel a bit old‑school and don’t really get these modern betting trends with virtual sports and e-sports. Still remember the moment I placed my first bet on a Premier League match 10 years ago, so I continue doing it each season to this day.

Only place bets on football, but I do it on many other matches, not just PL. Never skip Champions League, Serie A and other leagues labelled as “Popular.” Building complex strategies is my thing so I never touch totals when there are trickier markets.

Bet you get me – I’m a strategy-builder. That’s why I’m so obsessed with sports betting. Love studying teams, pitch and weather conditions and other factors may affect the match result. It’s a sort of puzzle for me.
