Amal Bounahra is a US poker player. Ft. Lauderdale, a city in Florida state is her hometown.

Not only has her poker career brought her fame. Amal is also the wife of the famous poker professional and three-time WSOP champion – Antonio Esfandiari.

A Few Details About Amal’s Background

However, she did not learn about poker from Esfandiari. It is a family thing for her. The fact of the matter is that Amal's father, Badih "Bob" Bounahra, is also a poker player. So we can say that poker is coursing through Amal’s veins.

Although not as well-known as his daughter's husband, there are also decent poker achievements on Badih’s record – $2 121 500 in total live earnings. Compared to Esfandiari’s $27 810 800, it’s a drop in the ocean, but still a great result.  

By the way, Amal and Antonio met at the World Series of Poker: the girl was railing her dad. This is a very romantic story for all poker fans.

It looked like this: "a girl-poker player met a boy-poker player and a spark flashed between the two”. It also gave them love for each other." Sounds amazing.

Amal and Antonio became a couple. They got married in 2014 in Las Vegas and are still very happy together.

Poker Achievements

On the flip side, Amal cannot obscure her poker achievements, and she’s got something to brag about. For example, her performance in WSOP events.

Her first ITM is dated June 2013, when Amal Bounahra took 237th place in the $1 500 No Limit Hold'em WSOP 2013. The obtained prize was $2 625

In 2018, Amal won $19 900 in the $10 000 Main Event WSOP, finishing in 728th place. It’s an excellent result given that the tournament featured 7,874 entries. As a side note, this is her current best live cash.

A year later, the girl tried her luck at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic series. She took 58th place, which brought her $18 850 in prize money. As of 2025, it was her last participation in any poker event.

Overall, Amal Bounahra has so far won $43 900 in live poker tournaments.
