Sorel Mizzi is a professional poker player from Toronto, Canada. All members of the family where he grew up loved all sorts of gambling. Sorel’s favourite table games were “Scrabble” and “Wheel of Fortune”. His mother was fond of video poker, but basically, it was 5-card draw poker, which is why Mizzi learned the rules of this game at an early age.

First Steps To Building a Career in Online Poker

At the age of 18, Sorel's passion for poker moved to a more serious level. The reason for this was that his brother owed him money, and instead of returning it in cash, he put it on Sorel’s account at PartyPoker. Since then, Mizzi has been a game fan and hasn’t stopped surprising with his success.

By playing online under the nickname "Imper1um", in 2007, he became FTOPS champion and got $40 971. In 2015, Sorel won at SCOOP-03 NLHE for 2 100$ and enriched with 354 960$. It was his largest win online. Later in 2022, he was rewarded with $320,000 for the 1st position in High Roller partypoker MILLIONS Online.

Sorel’s Path To Live Poker Dominance

In the live events Mizzi earned more than 11 million dollars. One of his profitable games was NLH Super High Roller-8 Max for $100 000 at the EPT Grand Final 2013 in Monte-Carlo. Then he took the 3rd place and earned €679 100 or $890 500. In 2014 Sorel finished at the second place at Main Event Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne and enriched with $875 000.

As of October 2025, the largest winning of Sorel Mizzi is $2 073 868. He got it for the 3rd place at Main Event GuangDong Asia Millions for $1 000 000 in Macao in 2013.

2017 brought the player’s career the next notable win. It was the WSOP event, where he finished 3rd and won $135,985. Among the few tables he participated in 2021, the WSOP High Roller is worthy of being mentioned here. Although Sorel occupied the 6th position, he got the massive prize of $331,806.

The latest largest live cash Sorel won is $295,000. It’s a reward for his participation in the WSOP Paradise Main Event in 2024. That year was very fruitful for him. Sorel didn’t have a large number of events, but his cashes were impressive.

Although being an active participant of WSOP bracelet events since 2021, he has not won one so far.
