Can You Survive a Deep-Stack Battle?

I believe that certain crucial aspects are overlooked in late reg debate.

Yes, the maximum late registration is definitely +EV, but it truly depends on your short-stack and early-game abilities.

Your greatest advantage frequently occurs in the early phases of a tournament if you are very skilled with deeper stacks (50–200bb), particularly if you have experience with cash games.

Yes, max late reg can be quite beneficial for you if you're not as comfortable playing deep but feel much better with shorter stacks and ICM.

However, what would happen if event organisers decided to cut down on late registration and it suddenly lost money?

Additionally, you're preventing yourself from improving as a poker player. You start to rely on short-stack play.

What happens when you're thrown into a big stack vs. big stack postflop battle late in a tournament?

Playing the early stages allows you to play more pots against weaker players, get more reps with deeper stacks, evolve your game, and become a more versatile player.

I'm not against late registration, but I would never want to be dependent on decisions made by tournament operators.

I want to be able to beat every stage of a tournament......
