DON'T JUST BLUFF BECAUSE YOU CAN.

Bluffing is one of poker's most powerful weapons, but that doesn't mean you should use it every chance you get. In the early stages of a tournament, most players are happy to call with mediocre hands, making big bluffs far less effective than many expect.

Instead of forcing action, focus on playing solid poker. Value bet your strong hands, stay patient, and let your opponents make the mistakes. Saving chips is just as important as winning them, especially when the blinds are still low.

That's not to say bluffing has no place in your game. Well timed continuation bets and semi bluffs with strong draws can still be profitable. The difference is that every bluff should have a purpose, not just because the opportunity is there.

The best tournament players know that patience wins more chips than reckless aggression. Pick your spots carefully, and don't bluff just because you can.
