Is £1000 not enough for playing 0.25/0.50???
Hi mates!
So, Kerrybomber said £1,000 is not enough for playing 0.25/0.50 cash as a low profile.
Well, I get where that view comes from – from old textbooks saying 100 bb is perfect. That’s “comfortable” – yes – but not realistic for one who does not play regularly.
So 20 buy-ins is fine for me at this point but any golden textbook would say that’s thin. Sitting shorter makes mistakes cheaper and variance is lower so £1,000 fits for playing tight. That works for me. I adjust.
If bankroll drains, I step down. No big drama, no ego. Grand might be enough to stay in the game when handled properly. I believe learning is the whole point at this stage.
What do you mates think about it?

Fair point, mate. £1k for 25/50 is thin, but if you’re playing tight, keeping ego in check, and happy to move down when needed, it’s workable while you’re learning
